Part 5: cables, wiring systems, isolation and switching, earthing and bonding, surge protective devices and the new Chapter 57 requirements for stationary secondary batteries.

Online open-book multiple-choice examination, 60 questions, 2 hours
Passing learners receive a CPD certificate recording 30 hours, stored in their certificate vault.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need the BS 7671 book?+
Yes. The exam is open-book and you will need your own copy of BS 7671:2018+A4:2026, the Orange Book. It is not included in the course fee.
Is the Brown Book still valid?+
Amendment 3:2024 (the Brown Book) remains a valid standard until 15 October 2026, so you may currently work to either edition. This course teaches Amendment 4 so you are ready for the changeover.
How many CPD hours does this award?+
30 CPD hours, logged automatically to your Certi record as you complete each unit.
Is the exam online or at a centre?+
Online with remote invigilation, booked at a time you choose once you have completed the mock papers.
What if I fail?+
One free resit is included, taken no sooner than 14 days after the first attempt.
