    Scope, object and fundamental principles

    Parts 1 and 13, statutory context and the relationship between BS 7671 and the Electricity at Work Regulations.

  2. 02

    Definitions and assessment of general characteristics

    Part 2 and Part 3: supply characteristics, earthing arrangements, maximum demand and external influences.

  3. 03

    Protection for safety

    Part 4 in depth: shock protection, thermal effects, overcurrent, voltage disturbance and arc fault detection.

  4. 04

    Selection and erection

    Part 5: cables, wiring systems, isolation and switching, earthing and bonding, and surge protective devices.

  5. 05

    Inspection and testing

    Part 6: initial verification, certification and periodic reporting requirements.

  6. 06

    Special installations and locations

    Part 7: bathrooms, swimming pools, agricultural premises, EV charging and prosumer low-voltage installations.

  7. 07

    Exam technique

    Timed mock papers with worked navigation drills through the regulations book.

Prerequisites

Assessment

Online open-book multiple-choice examination, 60 questions, 2 hours

Passing learners receive a CPD certificate recording 30 hours, stored in their certificate vault.

Do I need the BS 7671 book?+

Yes. The exam is open-book and you will need your own copy of BS 7671:2018+A2:2022. It is not included in the course fee.

How many CPD hours does this award?+

30 CPD hours, logged automatically to your Certi record as you complete each unit.

Is the exam online or at a centre?+

Online with remote invigilation, booked at a time you choose once you have completed the mock papers.

What if I fail?+

One free resit is included, taken no sooner than 14 days after the first attempt.
